I just left a client's home who purchased a new laptop. The geek squad installed
an
antivirus program that was using almost 50% of their resources. With 16 gb of r
am,
87% was being used.
I installed Microsoft PC Manager (free). After uninstalling that program, memory
usage
was down to 37%.
Not a fan of the Geek Squad.
The built-in Windows Defender is more than adequate, and it's free. The only ot
her
program I would suggest is Malwarebytes which you can use on a trial basis forev
er.
The program in question called ESET Home Cyber Security.
Has anyone ever heard of this program?

I've seen it highly recommended. I'm surprised it used so many resources. I
use Malwarebytes paid version and it behaves quite well, but I've got an 11th
gen i9 and 64GB of RAM....
